Ayurvedic massage courses

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word which
literally means "The science of long life." It is also
known as the science of digestion and the science of
self-healing. The World Health Organization recognizes
Ayurveda as one of the top three medical systems in
America. Ayurveda heals the root of the dis-ease, rather
than focusing on the alleviation of symptoms. Modalities
include nutritional and lifestyle changes, ayurvedic
massage, herbs, yoga, meditation, mantra, mindfulness,
sound, color, crystal and aroma therapy.
Five thousand years old, Ayurvedic
massage has been shown to still the mind and body by
lowering metabolic rates and inspiring feelings of peace
and calm. Often administered as a part of a three-, five-,
or seven-day program, these treatments are an integral part
of deep cleansing, rejuvenation, and life-extension
Ayurvedic programs called panchakarma or kya kalpa.
During the Ayurvedic massage courses we
use oil that is treated with medicinal herbs. The massage
is done on a massage table. There are many techniques to
warm up the body and to loosen up tensions. The body
becomes more smoothly and increases in energy. The
combination between massage techniques, the medicated
ayurvedic massage oil and a massage which is adapted to the
body, ensures that your body and mind become entirely
balanced.
During the ayurvedic massage courses
you'll learn by demonstration and practising on each other.
You will learn the techniques of ayurvedic massage one step
at a time, until you're able to give a full ayurvedic
massage. You'll receive a comprehensive handbook
‘Ayurvedic massage’. The Ayurvedic massage
courses are suitable for beginners and for more experienced
people.

Remaining course components:
Yoga
The ayurvedic massage courses
starts every morning with a yoga session. The word yoga,
from the Sanskrit word yuj means to yoke or bind
and is often interpreted as "union" or a method of
discipline. A male who practices yoga is called a yogi, a
female practitioner, a yogini. The Indian sage Patanjali is
believed to have collated the practice of yoga into the
Yoga Sutra an estimated 2,000 years ago. The Sutra
is a collection of 195 statements that serves as a
philosophical guidebook for most of the yoga that is
practiced today. It also outlines eight limbs of yoga: the
yamas (restraints), niyamas
(observances), asana (postures),
pranayama (breathing), pratyahara
(withdrawal of senses), dharana (concentration),
dhyani (meditation), and samadhi
(absorption). As we explore these eight limbs, we begin by
refining our behavior in the outer world, and then we focus
inwardly until we reach samadhi (liberation,
enlightenment). Today most people practicing yoga are
engaged in the third limb, asana, which is a program of
physical postures designed to purify the body and provide
the physical strength and stamina required for long periods
of meditation.
Intuition
The ability to see any event,
any object from a viewpoint of the cosmic whole, from
it's culmination - the seed, the flower, the
fruit in relation to the whole. The knowing of something
without prior knowledge or the use of reason. All
stands revealed the hearts, the motives, the causes of all
events. All is open to the person. Intuition can be
said to be a comprehensive grip of the principles of
universality. A person who develops intuition can know
anything, without the barriers of time, space and any other
obstructions. Every second day of this spiritual holidays
is devoted to intuition development.
Meditation
If you want to live a more fulfilled life,
first you will want to know your potential, who you really
are. Meditation is the route to that knowing. It is the
methodology of the science of awareness. The beauty of the
inner science is that it enables whoever wants to explore
and to experiment within, to do so alone. This eliminates
dependence on an outer authority, the need to be affiliated
with any organization and the obligation to accept a
certain ideology. Once you understand the steps, you walk
the walk in your own, individual way. Meditation plays a
central role in the ayurvedic massage courses.
Active meditations
Many meditative techniques require one
to sit still and silent. But for most of us accumulated
stress in our bodymind makes that difficult. Before we can
hope to access our inner powerhouse of consciousness, we
need to let go of our tensions. Osho Active Meditations
have been scientifically designed by Osho over a period of
time to enable us to consciously express and experience
repressed feelings and emotions, and learn the knack of
watching our habitual patterns in a new way.
